Here is my Free Bare Bones TwentySeventeen Child Theme for WordPress.
Twenty Seventeen Child Theme is for web designers who want to protect the custom changes they make in Twenty Seventeen Theme.
Bare Bones Twenty Seventeen Child Theme will inherit all the styles and functions of Twenty Seventeen which means it’s exactly the same as the parent theme except you can customize it without worrying about your modifications being lost after the next theme update.

- functions.php
You can also add other parent theme files you wish to modify into the twentyseventeen-child directory.

Instructions
- In your admin panel, go to Appearance -> Themes and click the Add New button.
- Click Upload Theme.
- Click Choose File and browse to twentyseventeen-child.zip on your hard drive and select it.
- Once you have selected twentyseventeen-child.zip, click Install Now.
- Click on the Activate button to use your new theme right away.
- Navigate to Appearance > Editor in your WordPress admin panel to add custom modifications.
